Transforming Retail: Pioneer Group Elevates LOOKFANTASTIC’s First Concept Store with Cutting-Edge AV Solutions
- The Challenge
LOOKFANTASTIC, the number one online pure-play prestige beauty retailer, part of THG plc, has opened its first physical concept store, bringing the online beauty world to life and redefining retail as community-driven and educational. The space, in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, is designed to educate customers about brands and products through in-real-life experiences. From the launch of the world’s first Color Wow in-store salon, to a vibrant colour-coded zoning system, the space guides shoppers, with every corner telling a story that’s designed to excite customers. To complement the sleek, modern design of this flagship store, Pioneer Group was brought in to deliver an advanced audio-visual solution that would elevate the in-store experience.
- The Approach
The project involved installing a high-quality Yamaha/Sonance audio system to create an immersive shopping atmosphere, providing seamless sound throughout the space. In addition, two Absen LED walls were deployed to create eye-catching digital displays. A 4×4 1.5mm LED wall was installed in the shopfront window to capture the attention of passersby, while a 3×3 1.5mm LED wall was positioned behind the sales counter to engage customers with promotional content during the checkout process.
With a strict 2-week timeline, the challenge was to integrate these systems seamlessly within a high-traffic retail environment, ensuring they aligned with the store’s premium look and feel while enhancing customer engagement.

Pioneer Group was tasked with designing and installing a high-quality AV system that would seamlessly integrate with the store’s premium interior and deliver a sensory experience that matched LOOKFANTASTIC’s brand values.
Audio System:
The Yamaha/Sonance audio solution was selected for its superior sound quality and even distribution throughout the store. The system was designed to provide customers with an immersive and enjoyable audio environment while shopping. Whether they were browsing beauty products or engaging with the sales staff, customers experienced high-quality audio that enhanced their overall experience.
Visual Display:
To create a visual impact, Pioneer Group installed two high-resolution Absen LED walls. The 4×4 1.5mm LED display in the shopfront window was positioned to attract foot traffic, showcasing new products, offers, and brand campaigns. The second LED, a 3×3 1.5mm wall, was installed behind the sales counter to engage customers at checkout, reinforcing brand messaging and driving conversions through dynamic content.
Integration:
Our team took great care to ensure that all equipment, including cabling, was discreetly hidden, preserving the store’s aesthetic appeal. Both systems were meticulously calibrated to meet the technical demands of the space, ensuring optimal performance without compromising the design.
